Description:In this study, we obtained a lipidomic profile of plasma samples from patients with schizophrenia (SZ) and bipolar disorder (BD) in comparison to healthy controls (CT). The sample cohort consisted of 60 drug-naïve patients and 30 control individuals. Untargeted lipidomics strategy using liquid chromatography coupled to high resolution mass spectrometry was employed to obtain the data, and univariate and multivariate statistical tools were applied to evaluate the results. Metabolic pathway networks were constructed and our results demonstrated alterations in different lipid pathways, such as glycerophospholipids, sphingolipids, and prostaglandins between schizophrenia and bipolar disorder patients.
