Description:Secretory PLA2 exhibits tissue-specific expression patterns for each isoenzyme and displays specific selectivity toward its substrate, phospholipids. Regarding the association between sPLA2 and psoriasis, it has been reported that PLA2G2D in dendritic cells suppresses excessive Th17-type immune responses by generating omega-3 fatty acids within lymphoid tissues, thereby suppressing psoriasis, whereas PLA2G2F in epidermal keratinocytes generates lysolipids, promoting epidermal thickening and exacerbating psoriasis. Based on these findings, it is anticipated that other sPLA2 isoenzymes expressed in the skin and immune tissues also exert some influence on the pathogenesis of psoriasis. Recent studies have shown that pathological findings associated with psoriasis are attenuated in PLA2G12A knockout mice. We therefore examined changes in lipid composition during disease development using lymph nodes in which PLA2G12A is expressed. Our results revealed that, compared to wild-type mice, the production of specific lysophospholipids is reduced in the knockout mice.
