Description:We aim to resolve senescence-associated gene expression at single-cell resolution across the exocrine and endocrine compartments of the human pancreas, capturing both established and co-expressed markers of senescence in a cell type-specific manner. We generate single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) data using the 10x Genomics Chromium platform with Fixed RNA Profiling (Flex) probe-based chemistry from three anatomically and functionally distinct pancreatic fractions — acinar, ductal, and islet tissue — isolated separately from whole pancreases collected from brain dead donors across the adult lifespan. We identify and explore transcriptionally resolved cell types and states within each compartment, including exocrine populations such as acinar and ductal cells, and endocrine populations within the islets of Langerhans, enabling cross-compartment comparisons of cellular composition and gene expression heterogeneity.
